Sushi Rice - organic - 500 g

Clearspring organic sushi rice is ideal for preparing delicious, perfectly cooked rice for sushi, Japan’s most famous dish. The short-grain Selenio rice variety has characteristics very similar to Japonica rice, which is used to make sushi in Japan. It is organically grown in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy, which is also famous for cultivating risotto rice. After ageing, the rice is polished to perfection at a rice mill in the nearby town of Trino. When only the outermost layer (the husk) is removed from the grain, brown rice is produced. To produce white rice, the next layers beneath the husk (the bran and germ) are removed, leaving the starchy endosperm.
