Fennel - Foeniculi dulcis fructus. The active ingredient in fennel is its distinctive-smelling and flavored essential oil, found mainly in its ripe seeds. It can also be given to babies with stomach aches. This medicinal herb is also known as a deworming remedy. It stimulates milk production during breastfeeding. Its essential oil passes into breast milk, so the baby also benefits from it through the mother's milk.
Preparation: For children with stomach aches: Add 1 tablespoon of fennel seeds to 1 cup of boiling milk and simmer for 5–10 minutes. Strain and drink lukewarm. Tea: Add 1 tablespoon of fennel to 2 dl of boiling water, then simmer for 5–10 minutes. Strain before drinking. You can drink 3–4 cups a day.
