Bulgur wheat - 500g

Bulgur is essentially cracked wheat. Many people also know it as Turkish rice. It is especially popular in Middle Eastern and Turkish cuisine, but is becoming increasingly widespread today and is eaten in many parts of the world. Immature or hulled wheat kernels are steamed, dried, and then coarsely cracked. It is made from durum wheat, which contains straight-chain amylose starch. Since it is steamed beforehand, it takes less time to cook than, for example, the better-known semolina.
